The folllowing are current CORE Connections initiatives:
- Formation of a partnership with Dr. Sonia Lupien from the University of Montreal and trial the use of salivary cortisol collection techniques in Calgary schools to assess biological markers of stress
- Development of “how to” manuals for delivering CORE in multiple settings
- Exploration of the cultural assumptions of CORE and work out ways to make CORE better suited to children and families from non English speaking backgrounds
- Designing plain-language communication tools about CORE for teachers, students and parents
- Examination of the association between mental health factors and patterns of physical activity and nutrition
- Creation of an Advisory Committee to oversee the development of the randomised trial of CORE to involve 30+ schools
